The Holiday Seasons are closing in. It’s time once again to enjoy the merriment of the season, as we begin to plan for family, feasts, events, and … What’s that? You say your not feeling very cheerful? Merriment sounds a lot more like misery, or you simply don’t feel very chipper, even worse you may be feeling anxious, stressed, or just plain blue.

Seasonal Affective Disorder is simply this, that as the days grow shorter / darker, a feeling of bleakness, or feeling “down in the dumps” with no specific reason why begins to take hold of us. It generally lasts through the season leaving us feeling detached emotionally from the joy and anticipation we’d like to experience through the holidays with family and friends. A feeling of hopelessness may even set in.
